Online Registration Instructions for Incoming Kindergarten Families
Step 1 - Gather your Materials
- Copy of legal document for Proof of Age - In accordance with Minnesota State law, before starting school, proof of age (ex. birth certificate) must be provided to the school
- Current Immunization record
- Early Childhood Screening results - If your child has not participated in Early Childhood Screening, which is required for entrance into kindergarten, please call (507) 775-2336 to set up an appointment.
Step 2 - Begin Online Application
Resident Families enrolling their FIRST child into the district
- If your family has never completed an Online Registration for Infinite Campus (no students in preschool or kindergarten - 12th grade) click on "Begin Application Here" under Step 2 on the website
- Note: an initial email will be sent to you with a link to continue the registration, it will come from "noreply@byron.k12.mn.us" and may end up in your SPAM or Junk email folder
Existing Families enrolled at Byron Public Schools or Preschool
- If you already have child(ren) enrolled in Preschool or Kindergarten - 12th grade click on "Follow Here to Parent Portal Link" under Step 2 on the website
- If you have not created a login for the Parent Portal please contact Amanda Pfeilsticker in the Primary School Office, 507-624-0311 or amanda.pfeilsticker@byron.k12.mn.us for login information

Facts and Questions
What is the age requirement to enroll in kindergarten?
Children who are five years old on or before September 1, of the child's enrollment year, are eligible for kindergarten. Proof of age (birth certificate) is required when registering for kindergarten.
When can I enroll my child for kindergarten?Kindergarten enrollment for the 2023-24 school year is open as of November 15th 2022. Enrollment is completed online.
Do I need to have my child screened prior to kindergarten?
Minnesota State law requires completion of an early childhood screening prior to entrance into kindergarten.
Where can I have my child's early childhood screening completed?
Early childhood screening may be completed in any school district. If you would like more information on Byron's please contact the Byron Community Education office at 507-775-2336 to make an appointment.
Do I need to have my child immunized?
Minnesota law requires children enrolled in school to be immunized against certain diseases or file a legal medical or conscientious exemption. To review requirements visit Minnesota Statute 121A.15.
What if I am not sure if my child is attending kindergarten at Byron Primary School fall 2023?
If you are unsure of your child's kindergarten plans, we still encourage you to register as this helps keep the student-teacher ratio most current.
What if my child will NOT be attending kindergarten at Byron Primary School fall 2023?
If you are not planning to enroll your child in kindergarten, or your child will be attending kindergarten in another school district, please contact the Primary School office once that decision has been made, 507-624-0311.
How do I learn more about what happens in kindergarten? Is there a parent/guardian information meeting?
All 2023 enrolled kindergarten families will be invited to Kamp Kindergarten held in the spring. Kamp Kindergarten is an exciting opportunity for your student to experience a day in the life of a kindergartner. This is a 90 minute event. Remember you must have completed enrollment to get an invitation to Kamp Kindergarten.
