    Mayo Clinic - Lab Explorers Career Exploration Program

    Mayo Clinic is thrilled to introduce the Discover Mayo Clinic-Lab Explorers Career Exploration Program, an innovative hands-on opportunity for students.

    Date: Saturday, April 27th

    Time: 9:00 AM - 12:15 PM

    Location: Mayo Clinic Rochester Campus

    Audience: Students in grades 8-12

    Cost: FREE

    This event isn't just about learning; it's about discovering the endless possibilities and potential career paths within the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. Students will delve into the captivating world of laboratory science through hands-on activities and engaging interactions with Mayo Clinic professionals. Attendees will have the chance to interact with industry experts, ask questions, and gain insights into what it takes to succeed in the healthcare industry.

    • Phlebotomy
    • Histology
    • Lab Assistant/Lab Processing Assistant
    • Medical/Clinical Laboratory Scientist

    Mayo Clinic College and Career Webinars

    The Mayo Clinic Workforce Development Team is hosting a webinar series for high school students.  They will cover topics from resume writing, interview best practices, and will highlight a variety of departments and careers available within the Mayo Clinic.

    MACAC 9th Annual "Camp College" at St. Olaf College - July 15-17, 2024

    Minnesota Association of College Counseling (MACAC) is excited to offer their 9th annual Camp College event which will be held in-person at St. Olaf College. Camp College July 15-17, 2024. This is a FREE program designed for current high school juniors (graduating class of 2025) who would benefit from a college readiness program. Students from rural areas, first-generation college students and students from low-income households are encouraged to apply! Sessions focusing on financial aid, college resources, and the application process (among others) will be offered.

    Housing and meals for Camp College are provided for all attendees at no cost thanks to the generosity of St. Olaf College and MACAC. Campers are responsible for their own transportation to St. Olaf College. Applications will open March 15 and are due by Wednesday, April 15, 2024! Click here for more information and to apply.

    Minnesota Private College Week, June 24-28, 2024

    Find out what Minnesota private colleges and universities have to offer!
    Come on your own, with friends or with your parents. These free, low-pressure introductory campus tours and informational meetings can serve as a first step to help you discover just what you’re looking for in a college — especially if you are early in your search. Sessions begin at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and run either two or three hours, depending on the campus. Click here for more information and registration.

    Minnesota State Week, June 24-28, 2024


    Explore Your Future with a visit to one or more of your state colleges and universities during Minnesota State Week, June 24-28. 

    Minnesota State Week is a great time to explore the 33 colleges and universities that make up Minnesota State. Special campus visit events are planned at all of the Minnesota State campuses. Just contact the colleges or universities you want to visit from the list below.

    And you can apply for FREE to one or more of the 26 colleges and seven state universities at any time during the week—it’s a great way to save a few bucks and get started on your journey to your dream career!

    All Minnesota State colleges and universities are waiving their application fee for the week of June 24-28, 2024.

    Healthcare Explorers Camp at RCTC this Summer

    Discover and get hands-on experience with several healthcare professions including nursing, surgical technology, dental hygiene, emergency medical services, veterinary technology (healthcare for animals), and first response/conflict de-escalation.

    Ages: Grades 9-12 (including Class of 2024 seniors)

    Where: RCTC Main Campus and RCTC Heintz Center • 851 30th Ave. SE, Rochester, MN, 55904

    Time: 8am-12pm

    When: June 17-18, 20-21 (Wednesday, June 19th is Juneteenth Holiday)

    Cost: $225

    Class Capacity: 16 students

    Requires parent-signed release form, emergency contact information, and photo release form (optional)

    RCTC reserves the right to cancel or postpone the camp in the event of low enrollment, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. If the camp is cancelled, refunds will be issued.



    Mayo Clinic Young Volunteers Program

    Volunteering is a great opportunity to give back, gain insight into the medical world, and build your resume. The minimum age to volunteer at Mayo Clinic is 14. Students only need to commit to the session they apply for but can decide to continue for another session. BHS will be hosting an informational session with the volunteer coordinator during Advisory for grades 9-11 on April 22. Students will be able to sign up for this informational meeting as the date gets closer. In the meantime, for more information about this program, visit mayoclinic.org/volunteers
