As with many things, Byron Makers started with the seed of an idea and a question - what if we had a community space for creatives and makers to use? While we are still very early in realizing this dream of creating a shared makerspace for Byron, I wanted to start the Byron Makers community so that creatives and makers could connect and learn together.
Through this blog, I'll share highlights of our journey to build not only the physical makerspace studio, but I'll share the creation and happenings of the Byron Makers community. The community, in my mind, is the most important part of our vision. People are the driver of what this community looks like and becomes. Together we can be change-makers and create a community that supports local small businesses, side-hustles, and hobbyists.
I look forward to highlighting community makers on this blog, so that we can learn from each other. My hope is that you get inspired to take bold, creative risks and to try new things. I also want you to feel a connection to the Byron community by seeing what other makers are doing.
The project plans for the makerspace, by the way, are not set in stone. I'll be reaching out and asking you to add to the evolving vision for the makerspace and Byron Makers community. If you have ideas, please let me know!
